The trials that have been given to us by God, force us to squint our eyes and find him in the mess. Our trials give us reason to “need” God and look to him in dependency. Without difficulty, we are left without opportunity to increase our faith. These faith muscles are developed and built up as our Father in Heaven, carries us through.
I have experienced these days. During times of grief, I have wept and called out to the Lord, asking HIM to comfort my hurting heart. On days that I feel rickety and worn out, I will ask my Father to blanket me with HIS mighty peace, comfort and joy. And although I may always “believe”, I admit that sometimes I don’t “know”, that YOU are present in my life and in my heart.
Where do you turn when you are weary? Do you allow our Lord Jesus to be your rock?
There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. 1 Samuel 2:2
Father in Heaven,Â
You are the almighty bedrock in my life. You provide the foundation of truth in Your Word and you give meaning to my life. With Your steady hand on my shoulder, I can accomplish far more than I ever could alone. Help me to make you my “first call” during all difficulty. It is only through You and with You that I gain strength and assurance in my daily life.
In Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen
