Be Still

“Be still”…oh sisters in Christ—how hard this is for our busy selves?

“Wait patiently”…oh sisters in Christ—how even more difficult is this for us?

In Gods timing, all circumstances are made perfect and for our good. But we angst, we control and we rush what God intends to be a period of waiting for us. During this period, he is training us, taming us and even entertaining us, in ways different from how we may want them.

Be still and wait ladies, rest on the knowledge that our Lord goes with us and before us preparing our table to his elegant perfection and for our good! It takes faith beyond belief to live that out. It takes trust in our Father that the waiting is part of his preparation and transformation of our lives and hearts. We need be at our best to receive and accept his blessings.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Prayer-Precious Father in heaven, thank you for this reminder today. Thank you for the waiting that prepared me. Bless my sisters that may wait not in angst, give them peace that quiets their cry and soothes their ache. Allow Your cup of blessings to overfill with goodness for those that wait with steadfast obedience. Give us faith that moves mountains as we not only “know” but also believe, that You are the author of our lives, as we seek to please You. Let the zest of a lemon, a ray of sunshine, snowfall on the ground or a chirping bird fill our souls as we wait for Your larger blessings. Let the mundane of life be enough to fill the cup for anyone who feels the urge to rush You or Your perfect plan. And let us continue to do our best in all that we do, for Your glory, as we wait for those shining moments.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen
